Design And Analysis For Accessories Of Marine Dynamic Flexible Risers

In the application of the flexible risers, the flexible risers should always keep certain configuration to reduce responses to dynamic load. To achieve the designed configuration, we need some auxiliary components, including the bending-stiffeners, the bending- restrictors, bell mouths and buoyancy modules, which are referred to as accessories collectively. This paper carried out the following works on accessories:(1) Conception design and analysis of accessories for dynamic flexible risers. According to differences of the structural forms and the application environments, we summarized the common accessories, and also raised problems related to design and analysis.(2)Research of the bending-stiffeners design method. This chapter expounds the design method of bending-stiffener, including its conception design, preliminary design, and detailed design. The author gives the design parameters of bending-stiffeners, and also raises a design cycle for bending-stiffeners.(3)Design and analysis for bending-stiffener structure. This part gives the theory method and numerical method for the structure design of bending-stiffeners. The theory method mainly inherits the existing theory research of bending-stiffeners. The numerical method is the major work of this research. The author establishes the numerical model using the APDL language of ANSYS. Through comparing the numerical results with the theoretical ones, the author verifies the numerical model.(4) A design example of bending-stiffener. In this part, relying on the engineering practice, the author completes a practical bending-stiffener design, using the design method given above, and also gives the design drawing of this bending-stiffener. At last, the author evaluates the effect of the bending-stiffener using Orcaflex software.
