The study of wearable materials has become a focus of material science in recent years. Data shows that wear consumed one third of the world energy, about eighty percent of the machine parts failure because of wear, more than half of all machinery and equipment serious accidents resulting from the excessive wear. In recent years, the trends of large power, low energy consumption, long-life called higher requirement to wearable materials. High temperature, high pressure gas and the impact load make wearable materials excessive wear, resulting in too short a time material service. So, to carry out high-intensity, high wearable materials research and development have significance to meet the special requirements for given working conditions.Industrial pure tellurium widely used as alloy additives to improve processing performance of machinery. Adding a small amount of tellurium can improve metal cutting performance, particular to stainless steel. In the casting process, adding a small amount of tellurium alloys can improve resistance to fatigue and corrosion resistance, increase its hardness and elasticity also. So, the study to add tellurium on the wear resistance of alloys is very necessary. At present, the rare element tellurium gets more attention for its important position in modern high-tech industry, national defense and cutting-edge technology.With actual market demands, after a lot of experiments, our group produced a new type of nickel-chromium telluride alloy powder material. Focus on room temperature friction and wear behavior and high temperature oxidation behavior of the new alloy, expecting a guiding role to application of engineering.Metallography microscope, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and power spectrum are used in the research of new type alloy materials. the results demonstrates: By adding rare earth tellurium to nickel-chromium alloy, refined grains, clean up the grain boundary, the wear resistance of materials to be strengthened. New self-fluxing tellurium-nickel-chromium alloy powder material is an ideal metal to surface protective and wear-resistant, Can be widely used in wear and corrosion, heat parts. Such as: mold, sprockets, valves, valve seats, blades, wheels, shovel teeth, etc.
