Global wanning is currently one of the greatest international challenges, and greenhouse gas emissions released by human activity is known as one of the main causes of climate change. Therefore, the analysis of energy-economic-environmental system becomes the international research focus, meanwhile, the related study methods turns out to be particularly important. Considering that all production activities in economic system serve for consumption, this paper reviews the various mathematical methods and models that were used for analyzing the final consumption based energy-economic-environmental system, tries to put forward a set of methodology for studying the related issues which can standardize the subject study and guide a more low-costed, clean and sustainable way of energy use.On the basis of previous research, the mathematic methods applied into the analysis of final consumption based energy-economic-environmental system can be summarized into three categories, variable relation analysis, structural analysis and process simulation analysis. This paper introduces the mathematic models involved in each method, including variables, parameters and estimation of every model, and examine of the estimation results. Furthermore, according to the specific application of those various models in the existing publications, this paper discusses the problems that a given model can actually solve. The results show that variable relation analysis is generally used to study the relevance of the influencing factors within the system, especially the causal relationship between energy consumption, economic growth and greenhouse gas emissions. Structural analysis method is mainly based on the consumption situation of a family, and used to study the household direct and indirect energy consumption structure status and the related economic and environmental cost. Process simulation analysis is applied in the estimation of the possible trends of system evolution, and tries to find a reasonable trend according to the simulation of the real energy using process.Besides, this paper employs appropriate mathematic models, conducts empirical studies aimed at three typical aspects of energy-economic-environmental system. First, casual relationship between energy consumption, economic growth and CO2 emissions, an empirical study based on panel data. Second, the analysis of urban and rural household energy consumption structure on the basis of statistic materials. Third, the calculation of energy demand for rural household heating according to the simulation of indoor and outdoor temperature. From a macro perspective, the empirical study analyzes the relationship among the various variables with the energy-economic-environmental system, which serves for the environmental diplomacy of China, and provides reference for our country's carbon emission rights and obligations. While from a micro perspective, the studies on energy consumption structure and energy demand for rural household heating offer the government with policy-making directions for solving the basic issues of people's livelihood.
