In recent years, immobilization technology has more and more application on the sewage treatment this technology will enable the matericals proliferate into porous carriers or embedding materials during forming gel to acheae the purpose of adsorbing pollutants. In many immobilized materials, sodium alginate has been widely used.In this paper, using immobilization technology, sodium alginate is cross-linked with Fecl3 to make SA-Fe gel ball. This gel bal is used to adsorb phosphorus and Cr2O72-. Its adsorption mechanism is studied to develop a new type of adsorption material and provide a reference value for research in this field. Comparing this method with the others, it is simple efficient. And the balls can be recycled.Through the experiment that SA-Fe gel ball adsorbs Phosphorus, it is found that SA-Fe gel ball has strong ability to adsorb Phosphorus. Its removal rate is above 99%. When the temperature, PH value and concussion time are respectively 20℃,3-9 and 120min, the adsorption effect is best. The adsorption type of SA-Fe gel ball adsorbing Phosphorus belongs to Langmuir adsorption isothermal curve which is single molecule layer adsorption. The regeneration frequency of SA-Fe gel ball has little influences on adsorbing Phosphorus. This shows that SA-Fe gel ball can be good recycled.Through the study that SA-Fe gel ball adsorbs Cr2O72-, it is found that SA-Fe gel ball also has strong abiliby Cr2O72-,. Its removal rate is above 93%. When the temperature, PH value and concussion time are respectively 20℃,3-7 and 120min. the adsorption effect is best. The adsorption type of SA-Fe gel ball adsorbing Cr2O72-, belongs to Langmuir adsorption isothermal curve which is single molecule layer adsorption. The regeneration frequency of SA-Fe gel ball has little influences on adsorbing Cr2O72-,. This shows that SA-Fe gel ball can be good recycled.It is also be found that SA-Fe gel ball also had ability to adsorb Phosphorus and Cr2O72- at the same time in mixed wastewater. Its removal rates are respectively 97.7% and 78.92.%. The adsorption balance time of SA-Fe gel ball to adsorb Phosphorus and Cr2O72- is 120min. And the one of Cr2O72- is also 120 min. The adsorption types of SA-Fe gel ball adsorbing Phosphorus and Cr2O72- in mixed wastewater are both belong to Langmuir adsorption isothemal curve. The Fe3+ in gel ball reacts with the CrO72- and PO43- in solution. And Fe2(Cr2O7)3 and FePO4 are produced in grids then wipped out. In this process, the SA-Fe gel ball preferentially adsorbs Phosphorus. Its mechanization is that relative to Cr2O72-, PO43- has priority level to combine with Fe3+. And the balance of complex Fe2(Cr2O7)3 in SA-Fe is destroyed. Which lead to Fe3+ separated with Cr2O72-. The separated Fe3+ combine with PO43- to generate FePO4 which is adsorbed in grids then wipped out. And it is a quite quick procedure to destroy the balance of Fe2(Cr2O7)3.
