Lying in the northeast of Qinshui Coalfield, Yangquan Mining Area is one of the high quality anthracite bases in our country as well as one of the mining areas which have the largest reservoir of gas in our country. Baoan Coal Mine lines in the west of Yangquan Mining Area. Its coal bed buried relatively deep, and it's a mine with sharp coal and gas problems. Gas accident is still a big question affecting the safe production in the mine.In this paper, 8#, 9# and 15# coal beds in Baoan Coal Mine of Yangquan Mining Area are taken as the research targets; gas and geology theory is used in this paper combining the geological formation characteristics in the mining area and well field to analyze the control function of geologic evolution and structure to gasses; Through building mathematical models, it analyzes the major geologic factors which affect the storage of gas, and studies the geological law of mine gas; It uses different - source forecast method and parametric measurement calculation to predict the discharge amount of mine gas and key hazardous areas; Besides, it also optimizes the mine ventilation system and aerating system according to the geologic research achievements of mine gas, proposes the regional outburst prevention technologies including exploitation of protective layers, ventilation and abatement of gas, and drawing of gas in a large area, rationally determines the drawing parameters of gas in the mining-coal bed, nearby bed, high level suction roadway, worked-out sections and penetrated strata, proposes the regional outburst prevention measures in fully mechanized working surface and fully mechanized excavation working surface including release holes, fore-pumping development end, gas drainage while excavating, drilling yard drawing and drainage and so on, and strengthens the level of personal protection, and intensifies the implementation of "four-in-one" outburst prevention measures as well as the management of ventilation safety. The research findings provide theoretical basis for the abatement of coal gas, chart a path for prevention and control of gas accidents, and laid a foundation for the development of coal-bed gas.
