Based on the study of geographical features, hydrological conditions and pollution emissions in the Baotou section of the Yellow River, it is divided into nine monitoring sections, it measured the content of the typical POPs substances HCHs and PCBs in the nine monitoring sections in laboratory, and studied the distribution and sources of HCH and PCBs in each monitoring section, it found thatγ-HCH,δ-HCH and 2'2'3'3'4'5'6'6' heptachlor biphenyl were not detected, other substances were all detected in these two types of material, compared with other contaminated water in our country ,it was found that the average content of HCHs and PCBs are being lower levels. For the content analysis of material in the water and sediments along the distribution, it found that, the content value of material is more stable in water and sediments in this section, not found the phenomenon of abnormal increase, View the source of pollutants, HCHs mainly come from rainfall erosion of farmland and irrigation withdrawal water in the upper reaches and this paragraph; PCBs mainly come from urban waste electrical components and some waste water of plant. Another source of these two types of material is atmospheric dry and wet deposition in this paragraph. In the distribution and migration simulation study ofα-HCH of the section, using the own building software and matlab6.5 calculated on levelⅢand levelⅣ, Concluded thatα-HCH Content was 0.07 kg, 6.05kg, 8.01kg, 38.56kg in air, water, suspended solids and sediments, for the amount of remaining ,sediment is 6.37 times than water, the suspension is 1.32 times than water; The migration Flux of the environmental size of the order: water> SS> sediments> atmosphere; the major migration sources ofα-HCH were water migration and suspended solids migration, migration was 1.68t / a and 1.34t / a, the main migration process was adsorption and desorption between suspended solids and water. The time ofα-HCH reach into steady state, respectively 4000h, 3500h, 4500h in the air, water and suspended solids, in sediments ,it reach steady state about 53a.The model was found a good consistency with the actual performance through the sensitivity analysis and validation.
