In recent years with the rapid development of China's economic, the demand of the type of fundamental energy such as coal have increased. Methane produced during the mining of coal is flammable and explosive, once the gas explosion, often causing heavy casualties and property losses. However methane gas accounts for about 80% of gas content. Therefore, completing the mine methane gas in real-time, fast and accurate concentration measurement is very necessary for the safe production of coal , and is of a very important significance.Absorption optical fiber gas sensor technology is the combination of spectrum analysis technology and fiber optic technology , spectrum analysis technology used in the practical in online measurement of gas fields.The absorption optical fiber sensor is of high sensitivity, fast response, resistance to electromagnetic interference, corrosion resistance, for signal transmission over long distances without loss, and other advantages.Firstly, this paper gives a overview of the detection of methane gas and the current situation of methane concentration sensor and then based on tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) has developed a online methane gas concentration detector, introducing the hardware design and the software design of the detector in details. The detector can achieve continuous real-time testing and displaying for the concentration, the concentration limit alarming, infrared remote controlling and other functions, is the core part in the detection system of coal mine safety inspection. Meanwhile, in order to improve the measurement precision detector, we use the average ideology and wave filter design algorithm to calculate the average gas concentration.Experimental results show that the concentration of methane detector detector is of high sensitivity, anti-interference ability, fast response and continuous strong analytical skills than the traditional examination.
