The advantages of water suppression technology, including environment friendly, fast extinguishment, low water consumption, and wide application, have received considerable attention in gas explosion inhibiting research field. The main mechanism for different mist properties or fire types has been understood, but there is real problem in promotion. Based on this advanced fire protection technology in this paper, experimental and numerical study that Water Mist inhibit gas explosion are carried out. The advanced use of Water Mist is expanded, and the characteristic parameters that affect extinct efficiency of water Mist are studide. The main work and conclusion in this paper are as follows:The inhibiting efficiency of Water Mist was studied and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively by explaining mechanism of Gas Explosion, and constructing small size Experimental Platform. When there is adequate Water Mist, the research finds that Water Mist can efficiently prevent propagation velocity, reduce Flame Temperature, and change flame characteristics of Gas Explosion. When gas concentration is higher, or Mist flux is inadequate, the Water Mist will promote the occurrence of Gas Explosion through the combustion assistance.The experimental result showed that heat absorbs and oxygen separating function of water Mist played an important part in the restraining process.For enhanceing inhibiting efficiency of Water Mist, the experimen increases the fire suppressive additive in the water by constructing small size Experimental Platform. In this paper, the experiment adopt three kinds of good function additives: MgCl2,FeCl2,NaHCO3, and mix them with water to make three kinds of solution; then the experiment use the Platform suppress Flame of Gas Explosion, and get the result to compare with the result under non-additve condition. The research finds that: after using water Mistt with additives, the propagation velocity of explosion flame was produced by CH4 which concentration is 10.5% is reduced;flame length is reduced in water Mist area; radiation temperature of gas flame is weaken in different degrees.The experimental result showed that Water Mist that contain different kind of additive can enhance fire extinguishing effectimeness in varying degrees and improve inhibiting efficiency of Water Mist to flame of Gas Expolsion that approach equivalence ratio.The inhibiting efficiency of Water Mist was studied and analyzed qualitatively by explaining mechanism of Gas and Coal Dust Explosion.The research finds that Water Mist efficiently prevent propagation velocity, reduce Flame Temperature, and change flame characteristics of Gas and Coal Dust Explosion. The experimental result showed that water can effectively inhibit Gas and Coal Dust Explosion.
