With the rapid development of industry, chemical enterprise is inevitable to produce and release a great deal of hazardous waste in the process of production. Atmospheric pollutants are one kind of hazardous wastes, which exist mainly in chemical industry, petroleum, pesticide and other areas of production. Those atmospheric pollutants with high biological toxicity and high carcinogenicity have certain neurodevelopmental toxicity and reproductive toxicity not only to the animals and plants, fish populations in the region, even great potential impact to the regional ecological system. We need strengthen its control of risk. Therefore, the ecological risk assessment of atmospheric pollutants became an urgent task.After ecological risk assessment method of the atmospheric pollutants is analyzed and summarized by looking up relevant literature at home and abroad, a method based on the Eco-risk model was proposed in this paper that will be applied to the ecological risk assessment of atmospheric pollutants in our country. It consists of three parts, which are hazard identification, exposure assessment and risk characterization. By creating food chain of specific regional ecological system, this model can calculate the ecological risk value-ecological screening quotients (ESQ) of the ecological receptors which are exposed to more than one pollution site and pollutant. Meanwhile, according to the problems of constructing the local food chain and establishing the toxic reference value (TRV) in its application, on one hand, we adjust the food chain species by investigating the natural ecological conditions of China, to ensure compliance with local actual conditions; on the other hand, we look up some doses-reaction data of the atmospheric pollutants, use the BMD method, and solve the lack of TRV. Finally, a simple modification is made to the traditional quotient method in term of risk characterization, and the comprehensive risk assessment for multiple atmosphere pollutants is realized.Finally, we select the Dayugou reservoir in the Dagushan industrial park in Dalian as evaluation object, collect the information of natural and pollution conditions of this area, and have a preliminary evaluation of ecological risk to its ecological system. The results indicate that the regional ecological risk caused by atmospheric pollutants in Dagushan industrial park is still relatively at a low level to the Dayugou reservoir in 2007, and the results are less than 0.1. So, there is no potential ecological risk.
