Oil plays an important role in the national economy and people's life as a kind of important energy, because of which country give great attention for oil mining and transport. However crude oil in oil pipeline contains high wax and asphalt ingredients and always to deposits grease stain months and years pass by ,which would largely reduce the efficiency of transport of the oil pipeline, even appear oil pipeline jam in the process of transporting of oil for small diameter oil pipeline. In view of these situations, we need timely detection in the oil pipeline, avoiding oil pipelines are blocked by grease stain. This thesis mainly explores the response relation of the fast neutron transmission and scattering to grease stain thickness using simulation of MCNP , and find the law of response relation of the fast neutron transmission and scattering to grease stain thickness through comparing with experimental research. This thesis will lay the foundation for the made of instrument of measuring thickness of grease stain using fast neutron.Experiment and simulation proved that grease stain thickness has obviously, regular response relationship to fast neutron. To find out the influence of the different experimental conditions to the response relation of fast neutron and grease stain thickness. We did study respectively through changing distance of detector , Angle of detection , distance of neutron to find out the all situations that may affect the consequence of experiments. The simulation of MCNP and experiment found that distance of detector , Angle of detection , distance of radioactive sources of neutron have effect to the consequence of measures . What's more, we found that the best angle of detection is 135°,and the distance of detector and radioactive sources of neuron should be put as close as possible .In addition, this article also discussed the effects of steel corrosion to measurement grease stain using fast neutron transmission through MCNP simulation .The results of simulation show that the impact which the corrosion of steel cause about the response relationship of number of transmission neutron and thickness of grease stain is little, and the response relationship of fast neutron to steel is litter than to grease stain. Comparing with using gamma rays, using fast neutron measuring the thickness of grease stain has little interference that come from the corrosion of iron pipe, which is the superior place that using fast neutron as radioactive sources.
