As an important application of laser processing, laser welding technology covers most of the traditional fields of welding. Laser tailor-welded can automatically weld a number of steel and aluminum blanks with different thicknesses and coatings into an integrated blank, which satisfies the different requirements for the material property of the parts. The laser tailor-welded blanks (TWBs) have numerous advantages in the manufacture of automobile bodies. Because of the laser energy concentration and small beam diameter when welding, so the energy of laser will go through it if the clearance is too big, which will seriously affect the quality and speed of welding. The accuracy of common domestic shearing machines is not able to meet the requirements of laser welding. So the pre-processing of the bank edge before laser welding is required in order to meet laser welding.Rolling technology of laser tailor-welded blanks with long weld seam is discussed, which is a process that by plastically deforming one of the thicker blank makes material flow to the weld seam direction to meet the requirement of laser welding and improve the speed and quality of laser welding. First, the force modes of the rolling process are built, and the condition of the blank enter into the rolling process is given. Second, some parameters are defined, which contain roller geometry, rolling technology and the thickness of the blank and so on. The Kriging model is built to optimize the geometry of the roller.The rolling pre-processing test table is developed based on these theories, and the experiment results indicate that the rolling technology can improve the welding quality.
