Dongxin oilfield belongs to complex fault block oil reservoir. With its'development, some problems have been appearing, such as well pattern imbalance, low reserve producing degree, difficult water cut control, fast natural decline. Firstly, under analysis of development characteristics of different types of reservoir, 148 units in Dongxin oilfield was classified as five types according to Dongxin complex fault block geological features, which are active edge and bottom water fault block reservoir, simple fault block reservoir, complex fault block reservoir, extremely complex fault block reservoir, lithologic reservoir. Secondly, typical reservoir blocks were chosen as research object, and study distribution of remaining oil, which includes interlayer, intraformational and plane distribution, by numerical simulation in different types of fault block reservoir at high water cut stage. And then, on the base of the fine structure and reservoir study, analyzed the impact of oil viscosity, oil viscosity differential, permeability differential, off-take potential, reservoir thickness and oil-bearing area on vertical and horizontal flooding. Some reservoir engineering methods were studied in theory, such as subdivision step by step technology, horizontal well technology, vector well pattern, well spacing optimization. In allusion to different oil distribution types, this paper set down tapping the potential measures, established policy limitation of layer subdivision and horizontal well optimum design method, achieved sequencing, standardization, quantification of subdivision of reservoir, and achieved development benefit maximization. According to field experiment , this achieved satisfactory result. Therefore this paper provided a new method for water flooding control degree enhance and optimization of series of strata and well pattern at high water stage. It has some significance to further remaining oil tapping in eastern china oilfield at late stage of development.
