The complex fault-block reservoir is common in our country. Most of these reservoirs are small block and more faults, a large number of remaining oil in the strata after one and second development. Maozhou oilfield is a typical fault block oilfield. It is extremely important to study the distribution rules of remaining oil and propose methods to increase and maintain production by using meticulous description and numerical simulation technique. The geological condition, developmental history and existing primary problems of Maozhou oilfield is analyzed first in this paper. A three-dimensional geological model is established under a combination of three-dimensional seismics data and the results of well log interpretation by using the Petrel geological software. After outlined the geological model, history matching is finished using the Eclipse numercal simulation software, then the fluid movement rules and the distribution of the residual oil is studied in this paper. Finally, according to the remaining oil distribution rules of the fault block, with the combination of current situation of development, comprehensive development adjustment is put forward for this oil region. This study illustrated the distribution of the remaining oil of Mao 32 fault block. the level of producing reserves is increased by well pattern infilling adjustment. It has increased 12.57×104t of oil production after 10 years. This paper offers theoretical support for complex, deep and small fault block to improve oil recovery.
