With the development of the times, the trend of many varieties and small batch is more and more obvious. Body design and production are the key to the vehicle development. While traditional mold design and manufacturing cycle are not only long, but also the high cost of mould material and machining. The traditional mould forming methods can not meet the request.The Multi-point forming is a kind of flexible processing methods. MPF press with blank holder device can realize the automotive MPF process. Through numerical simulation is applied in sheet metal forming, the stress and strain distribution can be fully understood to give the optimization parameters and provide general guidance for the design and analysis of mould technics.The paper expounds and discusses the forming of dynamic explicit nonlinear finite element analysis theory. According to the characteristics of the Multi-point forming, discusses the influence of basic body arrangement plan on forming ,calculates the forming parameters which influence Multi-point forming efficiency,determines the appropriate ranks number and the solution way of basic body height data.The finite element model of the Multi-point forming process, the key algorithms and the choice of parameters in process numerical simulation are studied systematically.With the hood as an example, for the causes of wrinkling, impressed marks in the process of Multi-point forming and inhibition of the phenomenon proceed numerical simulation. The key research lies in its causes and main factors affecting, and puts forward to restrain the defects. Finally validated by experiment.
