Pyrolysis of scrap tires has become the most promising methods of using, which can maximize the energy recovery of waste tires and has high economic and environmental benefits. In this paper, crumb rubber pyrolysis is studied through the method of crumb rubber blended with distillate oil. The research provides a reliable theoretical and practical basis for future industrial applications, meanwhile in the premise of not causing secondary pollution providing a more effective and reasonable way for the waste tires comprehensive recycling.Reaction conditions such as temperature, time, distillate oil type and ratio of oil to crumb rubber were investigated and the optimal pyrolysis condition was explored. Temperature is a key factor in the crumb rubber pyrolysis. As the temperature increases, the pyrolysis depth was increased, while the viscosity of pyrolysis products was lowered and there were non-condensable gases detected. The experimental data also show that the presence of distillate oil can promote the crumb rubber pyrolysis and significantly reduce the pyrolysis temperature. The lower the viscosity of distillate oil, the better the crumb rubber pyrolysis. According to the experimental data, using diesel oil as a swelling agent, the crumb rubber completely pyrolysis temperature can be reduced to 360℃.This paper focused on the crumb rubber pyrolysis blended with diesel oil, and product characteristics and application were analyzed in detail. The influence of pyrolytic crumb rubber distilled residues of different pyrolysis conditions on properties of asphalt was investigated. The results show that distillation residues can improve the low temperature ductility of asphalt, high temperature rutting resistance and aging performance. Segregation tests prove that the compatibility is good between the residue and the asphalt, no segregation phenomenon. In addition, the distillation residue is studied as filler of waterproofing membrane. By contrast, the distillation residue can better improve the low temperature performance and high temperature performance of waterproofing membrane. Light fractions of the pyrolysis product have a high calorific value, and the sulfur and nitrogen elements distribution and content of them have been analyzed in detail. The results indicate that the main ingredient of light fractions that have boiling points lower than 350℃is unsaturated hydrocarbon like olefins and aromatics, and the high content of sulfur and nitrogen elements like thiophene, benzothiophene, indole, carbazole make it difficult to be utilized unless desulfured and denitrided.
