Offshore platforms have many features such as harsh operating environment, complex structure, personnel-intensive and expensive and so on, due to a large number of flammable and explosive substances, fire control bring great challenges, which may lead to similar to the Gulf of Mexico caused by "deep Horizon" the serious consequences of fire and explosion. The project incorporates the"863"High Technology Research and Development Program of China of"Research on Life Extension Technology for Aged Offshore Platforms"and"Fundamental Research on Risk Control Techniques Application for Deepwater Oil and Gas exploitation in South China Sea"(09CX05008A): Deep South China Sea oil and gas exploration risk control techniques applied basic research(2009-2011). According to structural features of living module, the control room and other key region on the offshore platform, it comes up with the research idea that makes from the perspective of limited space to carry out experimental and numerical analysis of the fire on offshore platforms, and on this basis it provides early control strategy, too.First issue is the hazard identification of offshore platforms confined space, then is the analysis of possible causes of fire accidents, and ultimately identifies the risk areas. Combined with the results of hazard identification develop the marine platform confined space fire experiments model independently, and use it as an object to carry out fire and smoke in the confined space during the diffusion experiment study; with burning rate and other experimental results obtained and the FDS and CFAST software to carry out the research of a restricted space fire method of numerical analysis, applied Experimental temperature field to achieve the verification of the effectiveness of numerical mode. Based on the single limited space, horizontal combination limited space, vertical combination restricted space of project case platform, conducted fire field characteristics and regional characteristics of research in the application of numerical analysis model of limited space fire. Finally obtained the limited space temperature field aspects of flue gas diffusion characteristics and space-time evolution rule characteristics in the process of fire, and then identify fire hazard analysis critical dangerous criterion. Based on the results of numerical analysis, numerical analysis of the effect of fire accident control measures respectively from the two aspects of early fire suppression technique and evacuate strategy, eventually form a set of fire control strategy of early, consist of fire detectors optimum arrangement strategy and water spray fire control system design, Optimize to evacuate strategy analysis and safety assessment from the personnel evacuation time and evacuation route in the limited space of fire accident. Topics in engineering related research achievements has good theoretical guidance meaning and engineering application value to ocean fire accident scientific effectively warning and accident control.
