1, 5-Di (3-hydroxy propoxy) anthraquinone was synthesized using 1, 5-dichloroanthraquinone and purified. Structure and properties of 1, 5-di-(3-hydroxypropoxy) anthraquinone was characterized. Using 1,5-di(hydroxyethoxyethoxyl)anthraquinone,1,5-di(hydroxyethylamino)anthraquinonoe,1,5-di(hydroxypropylamino)anthraquinone or 1,5-di(3-hydroxy propoxy)anthraquinone as a material, polymeric dyes were prepared via solution polycondensation. Structure and properties of polymeric dyes were characterized.1, 5-Di-(3-hydroxy propoxy) anthraquinone was synthesized from 1, 5-dichloroanthraquinone and 1, 3-propanediol, using DMSO as solvent, KOH as catalyst. By orthogonal experiments, the molar ratio, reaction temperature and reaction time were investigated. The optimum conditions : n(1,5-dichloroanthraquinone) :n(1,3-propanediol)=1:10 , reaction temperature 100℃, reaction time 15h, the quality percent of target product was 71.0%. The crude product was purified by column chromatography with dichloromethane / acetone 8:2 as eluent, purity w〔1,5-di-(3-hydroxy propoxy) anthraquinone〕was 99.1%, and the melting point of product was 170.4-171.3℃. The target product was characterized by HPLC-MS,1H-NMR,IR,UV-vis and TG.Polymeric dyes containing 1,5-di(hydroxyethoxyethoxyl)anthraquinone,1,5-di(hydroxyethylamino)anthraquinone, 1,5-di(hydroxypropylanino)anthraquinone, 1,5-di(3- hydroxypropoxy)anthraquinone or 1,5-di-(3-hydroxypropoxy)anthraquinone were prepared by orthogonal experiments. It showed that ester group was existed in polymeric dye by IR. It is found that maximum absorption wavenumber of polymeric dye shifted little comparing that of monomeric dye by UV-vis. The thermal decomposition of polymeric dye was higher than the thermal decomposition of monomeric dye by thermogravimetry. The resistant solvent extraction of polymeric dyes was improved. Rheological tests found that it did not affect the rheological behavior of PET when the content of polymeric dye was 3 wt %.
