As the main raw material of ferrous steel making and metallurgical industry, active lime can improve the speed, quantity and quality of the steel-making. In addition, the active lime is also applied the sewage treatment, trash, chemical industry, papermaking and other industries widely. As one of the principal manufacturing equipment to calcine active lime, rotary kiln is applied broadly and has the excellent market prospect. The increasing demand for active limestone by nonferrous metallurgy, architectural materal industry and active lime is used other industries broadly, the demand for specification of rotary kiln would be expanded too. This will be beneficial to the research and development of rotary kiln and to improve the technological level of rotary kiln of our country.The model of rotary kiln changed from multi-supporting to two-supporting with the progress of science and the practical application abroad of rotary kiln. In the paper, two-supporting lime rotary kiln is the object of researched, elaborated the basic structrure, the principle of work and the technological process of three main equipments of lime rotary kiln system. The motion states of the lime materials in rotary kiln was analyseed and the traditional theory and method for the design of rotary kiln were studied. Analysed and compared the testing result and experimental data, the primary factors influenced the design of lime rotary kiln were summarized. Through the experimental data and correlative analysis, experience in production was summarized, to improve and optimize the main parameters and selection of lime rotary kiln. Software about the mathematical model and structural design of lime rotary kiln was written. It will be beneficial to designing calculation and structrural optimization of two-supporting rotary kiln and to the calulcation more easily and quickly. The calculating results of software were compared and verified, has some practical value. The software conbined with the actual working conditions and production experience, the lime rotary kiln is desinged to meet the needs of actual production very well and structure is more reasonable. So the competitiveness of active lime produced by the rotary kiln is relatively great.The study priovide the instrution to design and product of two-supporting lime rotary kiln. It will be beneficial to improve the active lime quality.
