As the foundation and basis of the urea industrial processes in China, aqueous total recycle urea production process has demonstrated its great vitality in the various advanced technologies today. Base on the existing production plant, how to increase production capacity and decrease consumption, enhance economic efficiency, is currently the development direction of technological transformation for the domestic small and medium solution total recycle urea plants. It is also an effective way to enhance the competitiveness and the viability of urea enterprises.The urea plant in the Southwest Tarim petrochemical factory is to follow this law of development, through two expansion transformation, from an annual production capacity of 11 million tons to the present 16 million tons; through the use of new blister-type tray technology, so that urea Tower CO2 conversion rate to 65%; by DCS transformation, to achieve the distributed control system control; through other Ministry of the technology research, a variety of consumption decreased continuously improve economic efficiency.This paper summarizes the output expansion and energy saving work of the urea plant in the Southwest Tarim petrochemical factory. Based on the application of domestic new technologies and equipments in recent years, the energy saving technology is studied in order to further optimize the production, and the direction of technical innovation is proposed.
