The well-known sulfolamine method was depended on the ethanolamine and the sulfolane solution. There were many advantages such as the higher absorption capacity, the lower corrosion, the higher selectivity, the lower foaming, the lower degradation, and the lower energy consumption and recycling cost. The preference of CO2 absorption/desorption in the sulfolane-based solutions was studied on a stir device. There were two experimental systems, the sulfolane solution and sulfolane-based solution (including Sulfolane-DIPA, Sulfolane-MEA, Sulfolane-DEA, and Sulfolane-PZ). The interrelations between the CO2 absorption/desorption rate, the absorption capacity, the acidity, potential and time were demonstrated; The comparison between different systems were done as well on the initial escaping temperature of CO2, regenerating temperature, regenerating percentage, and pH declining rate during regeneration. For the four groups of mixed solutions, experimental results showed that sulfolane and DIPA showed weak positive interaction, while mixed solution between sulfolane and MEA, DEA and PZ gave strong negative interaction. When the ratio between sulfolane and piperazine was 0.4:0.6, the highest regenerating percentage(90.347%) was obtained. When the ratio between sulfolane and MEA was 0.1:0.9, there was the lowest initial escaping temperature of CO2. When the ratio between sulfolane and DEA was 0.1:0.9, there was the lowest regenerating temperature(102.2℃).
