New style Three-Dimension garment design system can sew the 2D plain sample on the 3D virtual human via 3D garment virtual technology, and then use the virtual effect to modify the model amendment of 2D sample, which can reduce the production phase. However, when using 3D garment design system to design products in sweater industry, there lies much difference between the model effects and sample because of variation of raw material and structure. In this paper, Shima seiki SDS-ONE APEX3 3D garment design system was sued to study the simulation and visual effects of yarn and fabric structure, which could improve the 3D sweater designable level.Firstly, Different kinds of yarns were scanned and the special data of yarn were acquired, and the plain structure of yarn was used to analogue simulation. Moreover, Five main affected factors which influence the yarn analogue simulation are acquired, they are color composition of yarn, nep quantity of yarn/the yarn finesse, the yarn glossiness and the outer outline of yarn which also refers to the macrostate of yarn, respectively. It can be observed that we the adjust the system parameters to amend the color, nep and glossiness of yarn so that we can acquire the best analogue simulation; In addition, the fineness and outer outline of yarn can be choose the right yarn style in the stimulation system so that the best result can be acquired.Secondly, Four knitted structures were chose to study, they are plain structure, loop transfer stitches, tuck stitch and single-composite structure, respectively. Different specified yarn styles were invoked from the already created yarn data to stimulate the fabric structure. The best knitting structures related to specified yarn can be got via the analyzing of effect of stimulation.Finally, According to the above analyzing of visual analogue stimulation of yarn and structures, Shima seiki SDS-ONE APEX3 3D was used to design the sweater clothing and then combined the 3D virtual manikin so that the virtual design was finished. In this process, the virtual sample production of sweaters,novel fabrication process,was carried out.This paper aims to speed up sweater industry restricting, to realize the virtual sample production and designing, which can reduce the fabrication product cycle and save raw material and offer reference. In addition, it can improve the fast reaction of yarn industry and sweater industry so that they can own the high market competitiveness.
