Along with the prevalent trend of stitching clothing, the seam’s quality of different fabrics is getting more and more acttention. In order to improve and enhance the quality of the seams,different fabrics stitching seams,this paper studied and analyzed the seam strength of different fabrics.The seam strength is mainly influenced by the sewing parameters and the design form of that.Since this paper is based on a study on the seam strength of thin fabrics,the 5 kinds of common Chiffon,Voile, Poplin and Oxford cloth are selected to stitch.For more specific study of two different fabric stitching seam strength,Two kinds of fabrics of the same also for stitching as the experiment of the control group.The experiment was divided into 15 groups, a total of 23 types of stitching.Of needlepoint form, needle size, stitch density and the fineness of sewing thread sewing parameters, design the not null columns of four factors three levels orthogonal experiment, the advantage is not null columns of orthogonal experiment to the arrangement of the most factors. With the seam design forms such as wide,type, the factorial experiment design, can use a relatively small sample, get more information.According to the national standard,seam tensile properties of fabrics and make-up textile articles,the seam strength were tested by constant speed method.SPSS software is used to analyze the experimental data and the analysis of the variance, and the Origin software is used to draw the line chart of the seam strength, more intuitive to show the variation trends of seam strength.Experimental analysis indicates that:The fracture strength of the seams of different fabrics is between the two kinds of the same material’s fracture strength of the seam.The seam strength of different fabrics is more affected by the lower seam strength. The significantly influence factors of different fabric sample’s seam strength are different from that of same fabric sample.The best technology combination of different fabric samples is different from any one of the best technology combination of the same fabric.Seam design form is significant effect to the seam strength, type of seam is most significant, slit width.The strength of the French seam is the most stable, and the strength of the French seam is relatively large.The design of the wrap-seam is beautiful, but the strength of the seam is the least.After experimental analysis can be concluded that the best sewing process parameters and the appropriate forms of seam design can improve the seam strength to some extent, improve the quality of seam.If the appropriate design for a specific fabric design, will greatly improve the quality of garments.
