Due to the history, environment, culture and many other factors, economy and famers’education level in minority were developed relatively low. In the process of producing, resources were used unreasonable, which could lead to an increase in carbon emissions. Therefore, correct measure the ethnic minority areas carbon emissions, understanding and grasp the main factors which affected the carbon emission have important practical significance to realize the sustainable development of ethnic areas. In this study, it chooses some national minorities in Yunnan province, such as the Bai nationality, the Hani nationality, the Dai nationality, the Va nationality, the Naxi nationality and some representative minorities, including the Yi nationality, the Miao nationality, the Zhuang nationality and the Hui nationality are investigation objects, which are nine minorities in total, this investigation aims to measure the carbon emission of production behaviors (including farming, foresting, herding and fishing) during the period from 2012 to 2014. Taking the farmers of the Bai nationality as example, the Structural Equation Model is adopted to analyze the influential factors of Low carbon production behavior. The results show that:(1) from 2012 to 2014, the average carbon emission of farmers of the nine minorities reached the maximum value in 2013, while the carbon emission declined slightly in 2014. but it was higher than the year of 2012; (2) the average carbon emission of fanners from nine minorities was the largest in 2012, and the average carbon emission of farmers from the Va nationality was the largest, and it was much higher than other minorities, the major reason is the use of chemical fertilizer among the farmers of the Va nationality increased significantly than what it was in 2012; (3) Regarding to the carbon emission among four industries, namely, farming, foresting, herding and fishing from 2012 to 2014, the carbon emission caused by farming is the greatest, and it is far much higher than the rest three industries, which means the farmers of the minorities mainly were engaged in agricultural production; (4) Among the factors such as personal characteristics, family characteristics and geographic features, family characteristics have the major influences on the Low carbon production of farmers of the minorities.Based on the above analysis, the author of the paper has proposed revelation suggestions for guiding the Low carbon production of farmers of the minorities from the perspective of government, society and individual.
