As one of five categories of oil products, solvent oil is closely related to People’s Daily life. Hydrogenation is an optimal utilization of ethylene cracking C9 to product aromatic solvent oil. And hydrogenation is a good approach to reduce the production cost and increase the economic benefits in the meantime. Our group cooperated with Jiangsu LianDong chemical co., LTD. According to the problems of primary reformer catalyst such as low efficiency of hydrogenation, poor activity at low temperature and easy to coking deactivation, we examined the preparation methods of Ni-based catalyst cracking C9 a performance impact, aimed at the development of the C9 a new Ni-based catalyst for hydrogenation to provide important reference information.1. Influence of preparation method on performance of Ni/SiO2 catalyst for the hydrogenation of C9.Our group prepared Ni/SiO2(sol-gel)、Ni/SiO2(vapor phase method)、Ni/SiO2(Industrial carrier 1) and Ni/SiO2(sol) catalysts by different preparation methods which Ni contents 20 wt% relative to the carrier. A variety of physical and chemical methods such as XRD, TPR, FT-IR, UV-VIS, Raman have been used to characterize catalyst structure and surface properties. Focusing on the nickel-silicon catalyst dispersion, interaction and the links with the performance of catalyst for the hydrogenation C9. There was no sharp NiO characteristic diffraction peak in the XRD spectra, a broad peak between 350-750℃ in the TPR characterization and a characterization absorption peak at 1024cm-1 678cm-1 for Ni/SiO2 samples prepared by sol-gel. And there was no absorption peak found at 380nm in the UV-VIS spectra. All of this fully illustrated that there was a strong interaction between metal and supporter. In the activity evaluation Ni/SiO2(sol-gel) had a highest activity that the bromine value steadily at 40% when the furnace temperature was given in 60℃. Ni/SiO2(sol-gel) had a highest activity the bromine value steadily at 60% when the fixed bed was given in 100℃, all of the activity evaluation showed the optimal catalytic activity. In consideration of the catalyst designed by sol-gel method with Ni(OH)2 as precursor, compared with the traditional metal salt solution immersion method, we speculated that NiO and oxide support decentralized better and a strong interaction exist, and it showed a good catalytic hydrogenation activity when Ni(OH)2 was used as a precursor in the preparation process.2. Influence of the different carriers of nickel-based catalysts in the reaction for the hydrogenation of C9.Considering the problem of forming a catalyst for industrial application, in the follow-up work NiO/SiO2(industrial carrier) and NiO/Al2O3(industrial carrier) have been made with Ni(OH)2 as precursor. XRD, TPR and FT-IR characterization results showed that there was a good interaction between Ni and carrier, proving the validity of the above speculation. Ni/SiO2(sol-gel) and Ni/Al2O3(industrial carrier) all showed high catalytic activity, and bromine value decline reached 60% when the furnace temperature was 100℃ in C9 performance evaluation of C9 hydrogenation. Ni/SiO2(sol-gel) can maintain good catalytic activity, bromine value steadily at 40% when the furnace temperature was given in 60℃.The catalytic activity of Ni/SiO2 was ground into power (200-300 mesh) and mixed with a certain amount of silica gel cellulose binder then dropped a certain amount of silicon glue mixture, and squeezed after turn into a paste.We got the forming sample with extruded strips after drying 100℃ into 5mm segments and baking for 3 hours at 450℃. The forming NiO/SiO2(sol-gel) had good mechanical strength better than reference catalyst and had good prospects for industrial applications after mechanical strength text.Through this two part work on the development of the new C9 Ni-based catalyst for hydrogenation provided the following information.1.NiO and dispersion of oxide support is good with Ni(OH)2 as a precursor in the preparation compared with traditional metal salt solution immersion, there was a strong interaction and higher catalyst hydrogenation activity.2.There was a dispersion between silicon and nickel, and a strong interaction, C9 hydrogenation high activity at low temperature and stable performance for NiO/SiO2 catalysts prepared by sol-gel.3.There was good mechanical after forming and good prospects for industrial applications for NiO/SiO2 catalyst prepared by sol-gel.
