It determines the safety of coal miner and guarantees the production of coal mine safety whether the seam roof is stability or not. And the rock characteristics of coal seam roof are important factors in determining the stability of the roof. Taking the area 9#2 of Qipanjing mine as the research object, combining 3Dmine software, the sedimentation features, structure features, and the mechanical properties of rock which affect the stability of coal seam roof were analyzed. The integrating results would be as an index factor to judge the stability of seam roof.Sedimentation features on roof stability, It mainly from the classified lithology change disclosed by the drilling data within the range of 50m coal seam, the characteristic of variation of roof space silt thickness, the partitions of variation of roof rock, and the changes feature types of seam roof combination to analysis the stability of sedimentation features. Due to the development degree of folding is not very high in area 9#2, so it focuses on the degree of complexity of the fracture network to research. The study on the mechanical properties of the main rock roof selected rock uniaxial compressive strength, compressive strength and spatial variation were analyzed.For the stability of area 9#2 in Qipanjing Coal Seam, the classification zone is divided into a stable, relatively stable, unstable, and extremely unstable very much. Among the affecting factors, selecting six kinds of the key factors and integrating the results of the analysis obtaining different levels of stability in those various factors IDO connection, according to the best principles for area9#2 partitioned, the results showed that:the stability region of area 9#2 in Qipanjing coal mine roof mainly dominated in stable region and unstable region, accounting for 70% of the total area of the disc. Wherein the stabilizing area is mainly distributed in the middle, mid-west and southwest, and the relative-stable region mainly in the northern and south-central area of the disc, these two types of roof relatively stable, but in the early and late digging construction, the process must be carried out in accordance with the requirements in a timely manner caving. Unstable region distributed in the southwest through central and southern, extremely unstable areas are mainly distributed in the central panel, northwest and south, the two roof is higher risk and therefore in the process of well construction must be hidden investigation, management and maintenance timely, so that it can avoid accidents of the roof.Using FLAC3D simulation software to establish a Qipanjing 9#2 coal mine geological 1020902 face value model, through the way of stepwise excavation, the stress characteristics of the surrounding rock mining process, the displacement variation and destruction character of rock are analyzed, the results show that the height of overburden rock damage reaches a maximum 46 meters in the face advance to 80 meters.Through these studies, it will provide some predictive guidance and reduce the probability of accidents roof for the Qipanjing 9#2 coals mine well construction area in the pre and post-seam mining.
