On The Application Of Knitting Technology In Fashion Design

Knitting is a process which uses the needles to put the yarn of different kinds of materials and varieties into a coil, and then connect them into knitted fabric through stringing. This kind of technology has a long history and is mainly applied to clothing. The development of the economics, the improvement of our living standard, the steady growth of clothing consumer in the consumer market, and the growing demand for knitwear all provide a broad market prospect for knitting. In the consideration of the lack of theoretical research on the knitting technology, my article makes a systemic research and expound from the origin and the present situation, the three main applications in the costume design of knitting technology, and the trend of the future development of knitting materials and the future prospect of knitting clothing industry. My article mainly studies the application of knitting in the process of clothing design and its impact and prospects for development. I hope it can provide a little advice for the future clothing industry and arouse the tradition of Chinese clothing industry, so that we can make more process in the innovation on the clothing technique.
