Zingiberaceae plants have important medicinal value, economic value and ornamental value, The research on the zingiberaceae plants has good development prospects. In this paper, by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy testing zingiberaceae plants roots, and combined with various chemical statistical methods to a variety of zingiberaceae plants for spectral analysis, to study zingiberaceae plants using modern spectrum techniques has a certain practical and theoretical significance.Through the study of the infrared spectra of 7 kinds of zingiberaceae herbs comparative analysis, the range of 1800~1000 cm-1 second derivative processing, the data found herbs peak shape, peak intensity difference is obvious. The characteristic region of the carbohydrate was 1200 to 1000 cm-1, the characteristic peak of protein(1635, 1516 cm-1) was significantly different. Comparing the difference between the map, in combination with absorbance ratio method and curve fitting technique of plants including chemical constituents and pharmacological activities of comparative analysis, further explore the efficacy of zingiberaceae plants. Spectrum difference shows zingiberaceae plants the content of main component and efficacy components have different, should distinguish clearly, not each other instead of medicine.Using statistical analysis method to establish the model of 17 kinds of plant species and genetic relationship analysis and species identification, the large amount of information from 1800 to 1000 cm-1 range of data is modeled, and the model is better than the original and first derivative data, sosecond derivative data from 1800 to 1000 cm-1 region is preferred. At the same time that the same plant medicinal materials between relative species, and support the C. yunnanensis, C. wenyujin independence in the classification system. The system clustering is applied to species identification, identification accuracy up to 100%.According to the analysis of the differences in IR spectra and the relative to these 26 plant spectral classification, the family in the level of a genus the classification, the result was consistent with the traditional classification, but also to have certain differences, provides reference for the classification of zingiberaceae plant systematics.Studies show that Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy can be applied to biological activity study zingiberaceae plants, species identification and classification system. It is a reliable and convenient method in plant research.
