The ground movement and deformation due to underground mining is an important engineering problem. But when the ground deformation surpasses a certain range, the buildings on the ground surface will be destroyed. Therefore, it is very important to predict and analyze the ground movement and deformation.Aiming at the ground surface movement and deformation due to the underground mining, the stochastic medium theory is used to predict and analyze this problem in this paper. the two-dimensional formulas of the surface movement and deformation and the three-dimensional formulas are given. The formulas are used to calculate subsidence, tilt, curvature, horizontal movement and horizontal deformation. Programme using Matlab according to these formulas can be to compute the size of the surface movement and effect on mine shafts.Based on mining engineering practical, the two important engineering parameters, that are the subsidence factor and the tangent of the main influent angle, are defined. Compute the influence scope of the subsidence and horizontal movement. Compare the theoretical results with the measured data to analysis the reliability of the parameters.Programme using Matlab and paint the curves of the ground movement and deformation. Compare of the different theoretical results due to different mining technology in order to guide the next mining.
