Founded by National Key Technologies R&D Program of China——"Study on the comprehensive technology for high efficient mining by using mining environment regeneration in high-value,soft and broken deposite"(2006BAB02A02) and the Graduate degree thesis Innovation Foundation of Central South University——"Dynamic response of regeneration space under mining the soft and broken deposite and its experimental research"(2009ssxt226), and taken the deposit of the Kelatongke Copper-Nickel Mine in Sinkiang as an engineering example, the similar material model testing and numerical simulation are made to studied the mechanical response of reconstruct space induced by mining soft and broken deposite. It can provide the guidence for the mining.This paper has carried out the research works involving several aspects as follows:(1) Through carrying out the detailed investigation of the engineering geomechanic, the information of in-situ stress and geological engineering rockmass are gained. It provided the detailed mechanical parameters of rocks and rock bodies for this model test.(2) It determines the similar material ratio of the rock mass in the model test. In this experiment, fine sand,cement,gypsum,iron power,sawdust and water were used to prepare material similar to rocks. According to the proportions, the mechanical properties of this material were determined. The similar material ratio that meets the similar model experiment of artificial roof,artificial pillar ore body and surrounding rock mass has been found.(3) Based on the prototype of the Kalatongke Copper-Nickel Mine in Sinkiang, the similar material modeling test is made to deeply analyze the artificial roof,artificial pillar,upper surrounding rock and lower surrounding rock evolution rules of mechanical induced by deep-hole induced caving excavation in the cross section and the longitudinal section of the stope.(4) According to real situation of the Kelatongke Copper-Nickel Mine in Sinkiang that the re-construct space is under the 688m level to 248m level, the similar material modeling test is made to deeply analyze the the stability of underground structure under step loading. The whole failure process was obtained, and the deformation and crack extension of key parts is studied.(5) The numerical simulation has been used in the longitudinal section of the stope. The numerical results (stress distribution,displacement distribution,safety factor) has been discussed in detail. Meanwhile, contrasting analysis of model test and numerical simulation has carried out on the basis of the results of similar material model test.
