The increasing of number of large hospital bright a new challenge to the fire protection in recent years.There are lots of different between hospital building and the other building because of building's structure and peoples in hospital building. It is necessary to simulate hospital fire smoke by computer.Building fire produced a lot of smoke, toxic and harmful gases are the most important cause of the fire casualties, the major reason of deaths due to the inhalation of poisonous smoke caused by fires. People can not see evacuation signs and the surrounding environment, resulting from the flue gas during the evacuation, even can not find the door and direction of evacuation.Therefore, it is important that research the law of smoke flowing of hospital buildings, learn the smoke temperature, density and visibility with the passage of time. It is useful that make the evacuation study of the hospital buildings in the fire protection design and better meet the hospital building fire design requirements. We can get the safety evacuation emergency plans and practical command system and management methods. It is beneficial for the safety of people's life and property.This paper's main point is researching the effects of fire smokes flowing in hospital by the software FDS. This paper also can be the reference of the design of smoke protection system and the fire evacuating.First, the characters and fire characters of hospital building and the researching actualities of smoke flowing were introduced in this paper. The laws of smoke flowing and methods to researching these laws are introduced next.The software FDS that had be used in this paper had be emphasized in this sector.Then fire smoke flowing for the hospital building had be simulated. We can learn the field of smoke flowing and temperature and density of smoke. We can analyse the poisonous of smoke by the standard of Occupational Exposure Limit for Hazardous Agents in the Workplace (GBZ 2-2002). At last we got the laws of smoke flowing and the rererence of people's evacuating by analyzing simulation result.
