Students apartment is one of the mian building of school and college,In the studentsapartment staff are relatively concentrated,especially the student-quantity’s density islarge.There are many inflammable objects in it,Therefore,the fire load and fire hazard exist atany time.In case of fire in students apartment, High temperature flue gas with toxic willspread around quickly along the corridor and stairwells,and prevent the people escaping,threatstudents’ safety and their enormous.So it is quite necessary to research the characteristics offire smoke flow in students apartment.First,the mathematical model was established according to the plan of student apartment;And then the basic elements fire scenario was set(Including the choice of fire type, settingcombustion and release rate,determine the fire growth factor);Finally, one of the Harbinengineering university students apartment was simulated by fire dynamics professionalsoftware FDS5with the method of large eddy simulation,to research the characteristics of firesmoke spread. The simulation of this paper can be divided into two large pieces——fire inroom and fire in corridor.While fire in room,it can be devided into the following kindssituation (1)Whether the window of fire room is open,(2) A room is on fire, its next room’sdoor and windows open at different times. While fire in corridor, it can be devided into thefollowing kinds situation (1)The fire scenario in different locations on the same floor,(2) Thefire scenario in the different floor in the same locations,(3)The fire power is different with thesame locations and floor.To analys the results of numerical simulation show that(:1)When fire in room, no matterroom window is open or closed the temperature inside the room reached above100in the150second and and the smoke layheight down to about1,it is a serious threat for the people insidethis room. Due to the fire room near to the stairwells,the floor which contains the fire roomjust have rarely smoke And the floor is high, the smoke settlement more obvious.(2)Thetemperature in the room which next to the fire room is below65℃,the staff will not bethreat,but the smoke layheight is down to1.7meters it is a threat for the people.(3)When firein the first floor,the place from fire less than30meters the temperature is high than65℃,thiswill threat people’s safe.The temperature in stairwells which near to fire rise significantly andthe smoke settlement obvious.The stairwells far away from the fire is impact not obvious by smoke. TheSecond floor to the sixth floor’s temperature is lower than the human bodytolerance temperature, but the smoke settlement serious, lower than the human bodyheight.(4)The temperature of the fouth to the sixth floor is higher when the fire is in the thirdfloor than the fire in the first floor,the first floor to the second floor have no smoke.(5)Thegreater fire power will have greater heat driving force,it will produce more somke and have agreater gas velocity.Based on the numerical simulation, this paper use Visual C++combined with virtualreality software Vega Prime realized the students apartment fire scenario simulation, emersionthe fire scene.This paper’s studies have some guiding significance for the fire smoke exhaust designand people escape of the student apartment;And it can also provides some help for survey thecause of the fire and fire control simulation training;At the same time,the research will be abase for the further investigation.
