The quick-point grinding is more advanced and more efficiency as a method of high and super-high speed grinding, which integrates super abrasive wheel, super-high speed grinding and CNC technology. Its main grinding properties are low grinding forces and temperature and now it is mainly used in grinding shafts. However, there are not enough research abroad, and we also have not possessed of the key technologies and the theories of the quick-point grinding in China. Therefore, it is necessary to research on the quick-point grinding both in theory and in applications.The basic working principle of quick-point grinding is:there are angles between the axis of workpiece and the axis of wheel in two directions, both in the horizontal plane and in the vertical plane. The purpose is making the contact area of the wheel and the workpiece being only a point. And the grinding wheel can be controlled by CNC system to grind the whole complicated cylindrical surface.Because of the angle's existence in the quick-point grinding process, it is the point contact between the wheel and work, which made it big different in its grinding geometry and the pouring way of the grinding fluid from the conventional grinding's. the angle's existence will obviously vary the grinding area shape, the contacted area, therefore will affect the grinding strength, the grinding heat, the flow current of the grinding fluid feed, the pressure of the feed flow, the surface quality and complete of the work piece, and so on. This article has carried on the theoretical analysis and the experimental study about the quick-point grinding craft characteristic and the correlation technique. According to the quick-point grinding'craft characteristic this article has established the mathematical models of the quick-point grinding area's equivalent diameter, the contact length, the peripheral's and side's contact areas and the grinding power, and so on. The article has also inferred the peripheral contacted area of the grinding wheel and the work piece, the relation of the contacted area and the grinding power, and the grinding fluid supply system's basic coefficient and the relations. Summarizes the full text, the details of the study are as following:(1) Elaborated and analyzed the quick-point grinding craft characteristic and the domestic's and foreign's development situation, the grinding fluid supplying method and the principle. Elaborated this topic background and the significance.(2) According to the grinding geometry and the kinematics principle, the article has established the theoretical models, such as the equivalent diameter of the grinding wheel and the workpiece, the dynamic contact length, and so on; Analyzed the two grinding regions of the quick-point grinding:the side zone of the contact and the peripheral zone of the contact, and has established the side and the peripheral zones of contact's mathematical model. Has analyzed the relation of the contacted area and the grinding power, established the mathematical model of the grinding power.(3) According to the thermodynamics principle and the characteristics of the quick-point grinding, and on the basis of pressure which were driven by the rotary air around the quick-point grinding abrasion wheel and the speed distribution characteristic, the theoretical model of the supply flux about grinding fluid was analyzed and built, and the influence of the grinding parameters to the flux of the supply fluid was analyzed.(4) Taking the quick-point grinding machining craft as the foundation, designed and complete the grinding cooling system parameter experimental study of the small area contact. This experiment validated that the quick-point grinding could achieve a little or no fluid grinding's machining and accord with the machining technics for the green manufacturing.
