Laser cladding as a new type of heat treatment technology has displayed the widespread application of astronautics, automobile, petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, electric power, machinery, mold and light industry.In this paper, the author has studied the ways of laser cladding on the CrMo cast iron surface to improve the wear-resistance characteristics. Using MMW-1 omnipotent friction and wear testing machine, measuring wear data, observing the test site, the morphology of wear track surface, the composition of wear track surface, researching the wear characteristics of Laser Cladding layer. The contents of the research are following:(1) In order to choose the right parameters of laser cladding, analysis different microcosmic structure appearance and rigidity under different laser cladding parameters. Make a good choice of laser cladding parameters finally.(2) Several kinds of experimental design are reviewed, and the design by uniform distribution is found which is specially fitted for wear experiments. It can be adapted to even more factor levels, reduce further times of wear experiment, and make the statistical result of the experimental data fine. The design by uniform distribution will provide scientific basis for the standardization of the wear experiments.(3) According to the test results of uniform design, the return of statistical methods used to wear rate forecast that utilized large-scale data processing software SPSS 13.0, established the mathematical model of Laser Nickel-based Alloy Cladding on CrMo Cast Iron Surface of wear forecast. After testing, this model is highly significant and reflected the law of wear rate.(4) Through friction and wear test, the author gets the Curve of Cladding wear rate and the friction coefficient which effected by Load and sliding speed, studied the law of wear rate, the friction coefficient.(5) Studied load, sliding speed to influence of wear rate together, drawn up the wear rate horizontal plan, obtained the wear transformation chart combined with test data and mathematical model predicting wear loss, Compartmentalized coordinate plane into serious wear, minor wear and serious wear.(6) Analysis of the microstructure morphology and the state of friction and wear, studied wear mechanisms of Laser Nickel-based Alloy Cladding, drawn wear mechanism map.(7) The author verified the cladding layer had greatly improved wear resistance of the substrate, through the abrasion resistance tests of cladding layer compared with the matrix.
