For compact two stands reversible cold rolling mill(CCM), the ratio of the time needed by acceleration and deceleration in the whole rolling rhythm rises, which restricts the mill output increasingly obvious. The CCM of cold rolling plant in Jinan Steel Group Corporation is involved in this paper. According to the rolling technology, three simulation programs of statically, dynamical and acceleration rolling process are compiled. And based on the simulation program, the characteristics of the statically, dynamical and acceleration process are researched. The method and theoretical guidance to control the tension and the strip gauge in the dynamical process is provided. The main research results of this paper as following.1) According to the theory of the tandem cold rolling, mathematic models for static characteristic analysis and dynamic characteristic analysis which suitable for CCM are established and related simulation software are compiled.2) Base on the program of static characteristic analysis, the influence law which rolling parameters, such as roller gap, roller speed, hot rolling strip gauge, deformation resistance and friction coefficient, for the tension and strip exit gauge. The main influence cause for the strip exit gauge of the first stand is the hot rolling strip gauge, and for the second stand is the roller speed. To the tension between two stands, the main influence cause is the roller speed.3) Comparatively analyzes the dynamic characteristic simulation and acceleration rolling simulation results, point out the influence intensity for the tension and strip exit gauge as that, roller speed is top, hot rolling strip gauge and roller gap are following. Suggests the main cause for the strip breaking in acceleration rolling is that the wave of the tension oversized. When the tension wave on the maximum peak, if there is any defect on the strip edge, the tension will great than the strip'tensile strength and lead to strip breaking. The main cause for the tension and strip exit gauge fluctuation which in the dynamic rolling is roller speed, so that is the first factor for the tension and strip exit gauge control.
