With the development of new steel grade, such as Dual-phase steel, Trip steel, IF steel and super steel etc. Inner quality requirement of hot rolled strip is being focused and more attention is given to run-out table cooling. It is not only to guarantee the precision of coil temperature but also to realize cool rate controlling and micro structure controlling.Basing on the project-"Laminar Cooling Process Control Emulation and Model" subjected to the laminar cooling system debugging of a new building hot strip mill, following work has been done and some fruits have been made.1. Typical mathematical models of laminar cooling have been studied and analyzed according to the principles, contents, characteristics and convection heat transfer coefficients. From that. Difference model is selected as the basic model of the Emulation system.2. Normal cool controlling sub-model, which is one of kernels of coil temperature control model, is deeply analyzed and researched. Software on this model has been developed and front section main cooling mode, back section main cooling mode and sparse cooling mode are realized.3. VC++ was used to develope the coil temperature control emulation system, and VB was used to develope the operate interface of the system.4. Carried out the emulate experiment with productive field data to test the parameter of system, a more accuracy result has been got.
