High-accuracy miniaturized components are increasingly in demand for various industries, particularly in aerospace, biomedical, electronics, environmental, communications and so on. Micro processing techniques are vital for their development, existing micro-fabrication technology in the manufacturing tiny parts each have their own advantages. Compare with the other micro processing techniques, micro cutting technique possesses the advantages of high efficiency, high accuracy and low cost, so it is most suitable for processing micro components with complex three dimensional structures and curved surface. The material that can be cut includes variable metal material and nonmetallic material, including composite material, plastic and ceramic. Micro mill technique is one of most flexible micro cutting techniques, which has Broad application prospect.Because conventional milling machine is very difficult to meet the micro-milling processing requirements, developing a machine tool which is suitable for micro-milling processing has become a research hot spot. Study on the micro-milling mechanism and the processing through the micro-milling experiment is another research hot spot. This article mainly carries out the micro-milling machine development, and also carries out the experiment investigation on Micro-milling processing, the concrete work as follows:First, a micro-milling machine tool is developed basis on micro-milling technology characteristics and requirements. The development of the machine tool is divided into several modules, and then all of the modules are constructed.Then, we examine the position precision which the machine tool can achieve through the feed system position precision evaluation test. In order to examine the machine tool processing practical application material ability, we choose the magnesium alloy as workpiece, which is a new blood vascular stent material. And we assess the machining accuracy and processing performance of micro milling machine through the plane milling experiment and thin-wall construction milling experiment.Finally, we analysis the effect of the minimum chip thickness on chip formation and milling force in micro-milling processing, and theoretically predicts the relationship between feed per tooth and milling force. In order to verify the prediction above, slot milling experiments were carried out. In the slot milling experiments, also investigates the effect of feed per tooth on the bottom surface roughness and analyzes the result。...
