Induction heating power supply is a kind of switch type power supply which makes use of the electromagnetic induction principle to convert the electrical power to heat energy. It has tremendous advantages, such as energy-saving, environmental protection, high heating speed and it is also easy to realize automation. It has widely be used in heat processing and heat treatment industry, such as metal smelting, welding, hardening and so on.The article has mainly study on series resonant induction heating power supply, described the basic principles of induction heating and development. It has analyzed the electrical characteristics of two basic circuit topology, and obtains the series type topology is more suitable for low-power induction heating power supply. It has analyzed the methods for power regulation, adopted BUCK chopper scheme. The traditional analog control mode has some disadvantages such as drift and poor reliability and upgrade difficulties. As a result of these shortcomings, the paper made use of FPGA to design the control circuits, and analyzed the sub-module in details.The paper designed a 1kW low-power induction heating power supply, its switching frequency is about 60KHz,and uses MOSFET as the switch component. the center parts of control circuits was implemented on a EP2C8 chip, improved the performance of the power supply. It has analyzed the working state of the inverter, and simulated in the saber, Manufactured a prototypical, and gives the work waveforms, experiments have proved that the design in this paper is reasonable,and the analysis of the circuits are correct..
