In order to meet the requirements of modern naval warfare, a high level automatic magazine, which can ensure the naval gun has multi-purpose utilization and continual strike capability, is needed to feed the ammunition to the naval gun rapidly, smoothly, safely and accurately. Thus, the research on the automatic magazine has an important significance to enhance the combat capability of the naval gun.The dual-channel shell-feeding system, which is considered the shell box as a unit, was determined as the overall scheme of the mechanical system of the automatic magazine based on the factors of large storage density, high transit efficiency and the smooth secure transit. The structural principle design of the shell box, transit vehicles and shell-winnowing machine were carried out respectively. The overall control scheme of hierarchical control, which is considered the servo system as the core, was designed according to the characteristics of multi-DOF of the magazine.A rapid accurate shell feeding process is required in the disturbance of 5 sea condition, due to the special working condition of the automatic magazine. The transit vehicle should have a steady speed and the accurate position tracking accuracy in the transit process.The rolling model of a certain frigate was established within 5 sea condition, the effect of the 5 sea condition on the servo system of the transit vehicle was analyzed based on considering the servo system of the transit vehicle as a study object. In order to reduce the speed fluctuation of the transit vehicle caused by the distribution of the sea condition, the speed loop controller was designed by adopting the control theory of disturbance compensation; the disturbance of the sea condition to the servo system was inhibited; the steady and smooth transit capability of the automatic magazine was enhanced within 5 sea condition.The disturbance compensation controller can't eliminate the disturbance of sea condition to the servo system completely, the steady-state error of the position tracking performance still exists, which leads to the generation of the interference between the transit mechanisms and affects the safe operation of the automatic magazine. The proportional-fuzzy-PI controller was adopted in the position loop of the servo system in this paper, the rapid position-tracking capability of the servo system of the transit vehicle was improved, and the servo system still maintains high steady-state accuracy within the disturbance of the sea condition.To enhance the shell-feeding efficiency and avoid the appearance of danger, each DOF of the automatic magazine continuous should have a continuous movement and mutual coordination. According to the finite state machine theory, the sequential logic analysis of the automatic magazine was carried out based on Matlab/Stateflow. A reasonable shell-feeding sequence was determined finally, which provides a basis for the sequence logic design of the host computer.
