Tube bundles are the important components of heat exchange equipment, such as condenser and steam generator, etc. The oscillating fluid forces caused by internal and cross flow would result in tube vibration, namely Fluid-Induced Vibration, and excessive vibrations and fatigue may lead to destruction of tube bundles. So it is greatly meaningful to improve the performance and reliability of condenser by studying the Flow-Induced Vibration of tube bundles. The sound generated by flow across tubes is the most important part of noise of condenser, so predicting the sound accurately and reliably is a necessary step in reducing the noise. The FW-H acoustic analogy model combined with SST turbulence models are used to investigate the acoustic characteristic of sound generated by flow across single tube and tube bundles with FLUENT code. Here, the acoustic characteristic of cross-flow noise and the relation between the noise and the fluid force are also discussed. In the end, experiment is carried out, with regard to the vibration of single tube and tube bundles under the action of internal and cross flow. The effect of internal flow on the natural frequency, the response characteristic of the tubes and the effect of tube vibration on the internal flow pulsation pressure are taken into account especially.
