Large-span space structure because of its complex structure, the characteristics of many bars, the traditional damage detection and diagnosis approach is not fully applicable, this paper proposes to use wavelet transform and the method of combining the strain energy of space grid structure, to identify and locate damage. In this paper, the use of large-scale analysis software ANSYS, the numerical simulation of a simply supported beam, when the proposed method successfully identified structure damage to beam location, and then the space lattice and the numerical simulation of grid structure and to structural damage before and after the strain energy As the amount of damage identification, respectively, through discrete and continuous wavelet transform method in calculating the operating conditions of various injuries of the wavelet coefficients, statistical difference of wavelet coefficients of the relationship between structural damage and to determine the availability of space grid structure damage and to identify damage location. The results showed that, based on wavelet transform and a combination of strain energy damage detection method to a very good large-span spatial lattice structure damage identification and location, fully proved that the method for such structural damage location validity and applicability.Finally, with a calculation of comparative case studies,validate the correctness of proposed based on wavelet transform and the strain energy damage detection method of combining the effectiveness and applicability.
