Screw stake is a composite pile that has straight shot to the upper and screw-type to the lower.Compared with traditional piles and screw pile, screw stake has advantages such as construction efficiency, convenient construction, no vibration, no noise, and no mud spoil etc. In addition, the bearing capacity of screw stake is better than traditional shot pile; and its pile-type is more reasonable than that of screw pile. However, related calculation theory of screw stake is way falling behind the practical engineering which has severely restricted its applications and development in engineering practical.Based on the research status quo of the screw stake, this paper completed the major work as follows: Firstly, Author applied ANSYS finite element software to analyze the mechanical properties of screw stakes under axial load, and then compared it with the measured data which proved the correctness of the finite element model. Secondly, author simulated the load conditions of screw stake side soil and low soil based on bilinear load transfer function, which educed solutions of axial load - settlement curve of the single screw stake; then author compared it with the numerical results and combined with the experimental results, and proved the feasibility of using the formula in solving the screw stake P-S curve and the correctness of the analytical solution .Thirdly, Author used S-logP method to estimate the ultimate capacity of screw stake.Fourthly, Author analyzed the effect of different pile type parameters of screw stake on its bearing capacity and mechanical properties in the phase of working .The calculation showed that appropriate pile type parameters of screw stake are the guarantee of full advantage of its carrying capacity. The conclusions provided very important information regarding screw stake design as well as production.
