Absorption Heat Pump can efficiently recover various kinds of low temperature exhaust heat, and it can play an active role in the field of energy-saving and costing-reducing. A large amount of low-temperature cooling water is produced by thermal power plants. The cooling water has large low-level energy. But it is hard to directly use the relatively low temperature(only 10℃above the ambient temperature).Usually, this part of water is discharged directly into the environment just to waste too much energy as well as cause serious heat pollution. According to statistics, circulating cooling water takes away 60 percent heat. If this part of low-temperature heat energy can be recycled, it will bring significant economic and environmental benefits.In this paper, based on detailed analyzing the application and development of absorption heat pump at home and abroad, one approach was advanced that double-effect lithium bromide absorption heat pump system will recycle low temperature exhaust heat. Find the way to improve the performance of lithium bromide absorption heat pump system by theoretic analysis.In this paper, design and calculation on lithium bromide absorption heat pump were done. Considering the working requirement and the character of polypropylene, we use plastic material instead of metallic material to make low temperature solution heat exchanger. In the end, the design of two-effect lithium bromide absorption heat pump and build-up of corresponding experimental system were completed.In conclusion, it was feasible to use absorption heat pump to recycle low temperature exhaust heat from thermal power plants. A lot of link was used to describe the design process of lithium bromide absorption heat pump system, and finally the way of improving the performance of lithium bromide absorption heat pump system was referred. I hope it will be available for the reformation of thermal power plants.
