Overseas, Fiber Reinforced Polymer(FRP)composites have been increasingly used in rehabilitation and strengthening of concrete structures. In china, because don't completely know this mateial, at present, tests and theories have been the most. The secondary load effect is inevitable in the structure rehabilitation and strengthening process. However, most of the existing researches referring to the confinement of concrete columns with FRP materials don't consider the effect of sustained loading on the column during repair strengthening.conceming the practical condition, a nonliner finite element analysis by ANSYS is run to study the compressive behavior of reinforced concrete columns with GFRP considering the secondary load effect.Firstly, in this thesis, discussing GFRP mechanotheropy and excellences. The basis theories and analysis modal of Finite Element Method (FEM)are recommended, especially constitutive relations of materials, damage criterion and elements selecting of concrete, reinforcing steel bar and GFRP. Secondly, three dimension modal of the reinforced concrete column strengthened with GFRP is formed by ANSYS, and simulate the strengthening column.then contrasting with the previous test results, various mechanics performances are quantitaive analyzed and the calculation precision and practicability of FEM are validated. Subsequently, the substantiality concrete column strengthened with GFRP considing secongary loading is simulated by elements birth and death, and contrast with the results of the test disregarding to the secondary loading. The influences of the secondary loading on the strengthening structure are obtained. All methods and results have important practical significance to the analysis of secondary loading and the reinforcing design of the reinforced structures in this thesis. Since some experiments cost not only lots of money, but also people resource and time are saving.
