The Study Of Villages' Evolution Towards Small Towns Under The Influence Of Tourism

This study will investigate changes in the village to the small town during the physical space and social space and variation of the function changes, and analyze the impact of tourism on the socio-economic and spatial mapping. Through the empirical and survey and data analysis, this thesis will research the morphological changes of urbanization and factors of impact, then conclude the model and dynamic mechanism of tourist towns and propose the multi-dimensional control strateg.Overall, It is the study of urbanization, also involves tourism impact research, academic cross-strong, emphasizing the Diachronic and Synchronic Analysis of multi-factor system during the morphological changes of villages to small towns. The theoretical basis is from Urban Ulanning, Rural Geography, Urban Geography and Tourism Geography and other fields. The combination of theoretical research and empirical research will be used in the thesis as the technical line.This thesis will focus on the expanding and deepening the impact of the village of urbanization and tourism. Through empirical research on Dali city and Xizhou town, it will build the dynamic mechanism and development strategy on villages and tourist towns, enrich the content of settlement morphology, and supply the development of Yunnan Ethnic Villages with policy reference. Finally, the paper will conclude:the expansion of the village form of physical space, is not the essential factor for the villages to become small towns; "whether the village will turn into small towns," depends on whether it has formed the higher concentration than the village level core, which means that whether its socio-economic and culture have effected the surrounding other villages; on the process, the traveling and tourism and related economy play important roles in strengthening the concentration of nuclear cohesion, and promoted the process of urbanization. That traveling companies'involvement in large-scale development of village tourism, easily leads to "ahead of urbanization" of physical form during the process of villages'evolution to small towns. Therefore the development of economy and the scale of tourism should be kept consistent while developing and constructing.Full text on the structure is divided into three parts: The first part is an introduction and research design. Through the analysis of background and research questions, the purpose and significance are obtained; through the related domestic and international researching reviews on shape of villages and small towns, impact of tourism and rural tourism, tourism urbanization, the shortcoming and status will be researched and analyzed to clear the concepts of this study, form the principles of case selection and to identify the perspectives on research of morphology and analysis of tourism. This part will establish the research contents and priorities on morphological evolution and effects of tourism, and also raise research ideas and research framework. To take Xizhou town of Dali city as research objects, Town Development Area in Xizhou, the surrounding city and the Butterfly Spring area, and the other villages not involved by travel (in kernel in the city as the focus) are selected to be the researching focuses as the three different models development. Based on field survey, the questionnaire data and related information, that the process of evolution, characteristics and influencing factors of the physical of villages and social space will be analyzed; furthermore, that how tourism to influence the morphological change, the related influencing factors derived by tourism and the differentiation of collective interests in tourism are analyzed from the impact of tourism; based on survey data of residents and tourists and comparison analysis on non-tourist village, that the features and tendency when village evaluate to small towns, and the main aspects and features of impact on villages caused by of tourism, under the different model of tourism's influence, will be get. Based on the second part of the research, this part will research comparatively in depth on the three key areas, and conclude the general features and influencing factors under the influence of tourism when the villages evolve to small towns, summarize the contradictions appeared during the process of urbanization, and the limit factors of development, and propose strategy and direction on development. Chapter VIII will summarize the main conclusions, analyze the limitations and disadvantages of the study, and raise the direction of future research.
