The Evolution Of The Old Town Of Lijiang Space Under The Influence Of Tourism

The town tourism rise in1990s profoundly changed the basic pattern of the traditional ancient town. The power game concerning protection and development became the main contradiction facing with the ancient tour town, and the dispute based on the protective value is long-standing. Therefore, to find out the characteristics and the internal mechanism of the spatial morphology evolution of the ancient town, which is a problem to be solved in order to promote its sustainable development.This article selects three old towns of Lijiang as a study case, and focuses on the interactions of the spatial functions, spatial morphology and behavior patterns of people three factors in the development process of the old towns. The research tries to find the internal mechanism of the spatial evolution in the process of tourism development in the Old Town of Lijiang, using the thinking of morphological study and space syntax theory and method, abandoning the limitations of traditional spatial morphological study. The findings of the study are as follows:The spatial morphology evolution of the ancient town is a progress of interactions between urban form and function.①The tree form is conducive to the organization of community life. Living privacy and publicity are the basic reasons of space evolution in residential tourism town in which the settlement space likes a living tree.②The urban form transforms from tree to mesh in monolithically tourism development ancient town,because of spatial demands of its motion efficiency.③The boundary expansion and rapid structural adjustment in progressive renewal tourism ancient town, because of the disintegration of the structure in indigenous communities and reconstruction of its social network.The distribution of tourism function space is the result that function adapts to morphology.①The distribution of tourism function space in progressive renewal tourism ancient town is highly and positively related with spatial integration.②Affected by the large-scale expansion of the urban form, the monolithically tourism development town shows polycentric characteristic.③Tourism function space and community public space are approximately coincident, and significant correlate with space integration degree in residential tourism town.④Different tourism functions have different degree of dependence on space integration, the strongest dependence is the function of tourism and shopping which oriented in walking retail, the second is leisure restaurant, the third is individual hotel accommodation.Tourist behavior is the basis of the interaction between form and function.①There is a highly positive correlation between the tourists distribution and the Normalized Angle Choice of Space Syntax, but special tourism function effect the tourists flow distribution locally. This is called, the universality and particularity of motional law of the tourism ancient town.②The success of tourism function space is not only depend on the potential tourist flow attracted by the urban form, but also its own attraction. This is called, the subjectivity and objectivity of the tourism function space vicissitudes.③because of different forces of spatial location and form, different types of tourism space show the different space location requirements. This is called, the general rules of the interaction between form and function.In short, the spatial evolution of the Old Town of Lijiang is a result of spatial functions, spatial morphology and behavior patterns of interaction. The findings will contribute to further study in the sustainable development of tourism ancient town, and have great practical reference value to formulate policies for sustainable development of tourism ancient town.
