The Investigate Research On Community Park Plant Landscape Of Changsha

The community park is the "Oasis" in the urban area and the indispensable recreation place for urban inhabitant in their daily life. Rich plants landscape resources have come to be very popular with urban inhabitant. Development of the community park have been accelerated. It becomes the focus of planning a community park in the future how to create the vernacular plants landscape in the community park to meet the aesthetic needs of the residents and to improve the quality of the urban environment. Therefore, the Investigation on plants landscape of the community park in Changsha has some practical significance.The author have investigated plants landscape of six community parks of Changsha in hunan province of China constructed in 2009 such as Shiren village community park in Tianxin District of Changsha, Boyang community park and Shumuling community park in Yuhua District of Changsha, Dongtundu community park in Furong District of Changsha, Victory village community park in Kaifu District of Changsha, and Juzhou Xinyuan community park in Yuelu District of Changsha. First the author point out the existing research on the Chinese and foreign planting design. Then the author discusses the general principle and methods of community park planting design. Finally,based on species of vegetations and types of plant landscape design in every existing community park in Changsha,the author puts forward valued suggestion for sustainable development community park.The research on the planting landscape of community parks in Changsha City shows:(1)The features of planting landscape of Changsha City community parks are to mainly use the evergreen tree as the basis for the green space, such as Camphor, Osmanthus fragrans, Elaeocarpus sylvestris and so forth;(2)To emphasize the ecological benefits of the vegetation by the well layout of trees, shrubs, and groundcover plants and at the same time to create a beautiful landscape. Shirencun Community park and Dongtundu Community park are good examples;(3)Vernacular plants are widely used for the planting design in the Changsha community parks and displays the characteristics of regional geography;(4)The variations of bloom and foliage are emphasized in the design, such as the planting design method of the cherry, crape myrtle, Bauhinia, camellia, myrobalan plum, and Ginkgo biloba in the community park design. Finally, the planting design of Changsha community parks has something needed to be improved from the perspective of the park management, the participation of visitors, and the improvement of the park culture. The theme of planting design in Changsha community parks is not obvious and the planting design did not display the characteristics and cultures of various community parks. Since the design process of community parks emphasizes the holistic landscape effect of community park and pay less attention to the detail design and management of community parks after completion. All these lead to the unfulfilment of original community park design purpose community parks. The diversity of vegetation needs to be emphasized in the future for the vernacular plants are not fully used in the planting design of Changsha community parks.In conclusion, the suggestions for the improvement of Changsha community parks are listed out from the aspects of the construction process, management of parks after construction, the participation of the residents, the cultural theme of community parks and so on.Plants landscape of community park has become a major element of construction of urban green space.The research has far-reaching significance and long-term benefits.
