In this paper, inflation process analysis and active control methods of Thin FilmReflector are mainly researched based on the requirement of large high-precisionantenna in aviation and aerospace fields. Specific research contents and results are asfollows:1) Process during the inflation deployment of two different reflector types (flat -parabolic type and overall parabolic type) were discussed. This paper also studied theinfluence of different factors on the impact of inflation process, and obtained theempirical formulas of inflatable antenna deployment process.2) W-error and thermal expansion error, which are two biggest errors related toThin Film shape errors, were described and researched in detail. Through modeling theintegration of actuators and reflector and using influence coefficient method, theadjustment algorithm on reflector surface of the flexible inflatable antenna was given.The simulation results showed that the adjusted reflector surface accuracy could meetthe space requirements.3) We chose overall system energy and the number of actuator as the constraints,shape accuracy of Thin Film reflector as the objective function, establishedmathematical model of the actuators optimization, and solved the problem with animproved gradual-eliminate-algorithm. The simulation results demonstrated theeffectiveness of this actuators optimization method.To study this active shape control based on piezoelectric smart structures, we couldachieve to maintain the shape of large Thin Film antenna reflector adaptively, meet therequirements of antenna's electrical performance, and lay a solid theoretical basis forstructure design, active shape control and engineering application of the flexible ThinFilm antenna.
