Stocktaking the coal storage in power plant relates to economic benefits of power plant, it is also difficult to solve it for power plant.People used a method that gets the coal storage by especial ruler ago.But this method got larger error.With the development of science technology,some new systems that stocktake the coal storage replace traditional ways with especial ruler.But these systems have a more complex construciton and installation,and high cost.So it dose not adapt to especial enviroment and changeable needs in power plant.Therfore, a practical convenient system to stocktake the coal storage was needed by power plant.The paper analyzes the existed systems that stocktake the coal storage in power plant and mainly studies as follows:Fist, creating observation network of coal heap and space coordinate system that can get data by a multifunction laser measuring instrument was studied. Second, the concept of Delaunay triangle cross section, three-dimensional model such as contour line, digital terrain models was studied. Third, Modeling three-dimensional graphics of coal heap was achieved by List triangulation growth algorithm and Three-dimensional reconstruction of coal heap was solved by the skill of entity such as Points,Lines, Polygons, Curves and Surfaces, furthermore, Realistic effect of skill such as lights and shadows, three-dimensional transformation, texture mapping and so on. Finally, algorithm that compute volume of coal heap was studied.On the basis of the above studies, this thesis gets data by Contour Xlric-a multifunction laser measuring instrument, Three-dimensional reconstruction of coal heap was achieved at the platform of Visual C++and OpenGL, computing volume of coal heap were achieved by grid algorithm. At last,by experiments, the design of proposal that solve to stocktake the coal storage in power plant are proved to be feasible.
