As a typical discharge structure,spillway should be laid smooth as far as possible to ensure water in good condition,but in practice,water conservancy projects,due to the natural environment,layout, economic indicator and other constraints,sometimes the spillway is used special continuous two stilling basin and a curved corner,so you can take advantage of the terrain,quantity savings,reduce project cost,however,the flow pattern is complex and change rapidly.lt is negative for the energy dissipation,caused great difficulties for the project design.The paper with YangPo reservoir engineering combine physical model test, hydraulic calculations,numerical simulation of turbulent to study the main hydraulic characteristics of spillway of the two continuous stilling basin and curved corner, the main contents include:1. Physical model test flow level,flow,velocity and other major water features.2. According to model test results,for the problem of flow pattern of the continuous stilling basin and energy dissipation of spillway,the paper propose improvement measures for the spillway to safe and reliable operation.3. By physical model test, the paper propose improvement measures for the bend flow pattern and provide basis for the project to design and implement.4. On specific conditions,the paper use FLUENT software to three-dimensional numerical simulate the curve section of spillway.The simulation results are compared and analysised with the data of model measured. The obtained results are satisfactory.How to improve the accuracy of numerical simulation approach is obtained.This topic has some theoretical and practical significance and has certain academic value.The paper give reference for the similar engineering and physical tests.
