The normal spillway is a widely used discharge structure, it directly affects the water control for flood control and safe operation of natural conditions, the project layout, economic indicators and other factors need to be considered in the actual hydraulic engineering design and construction process, and make full use ofterrain, reducing the quantities, project cost savings, while meeting the flow regime, hydraulic characteristics and energy dissipation. In this paper, the actual physical model tests of the Bright City Xi’an hydroelectric power station (two) works, hydraulics calculation, turbulence numerical simulation of a combination of positive spillway overall hydraulic characteristics of the study, research topics include:(1) the hydraulic characteristics of the physical model test spillway, including water level, flow, flow rate, etc.;(2) using the FLUENT software for three-dimensional numerical simulation of the spillway, the physical model test results and turbulent numerical simulation results were compared with the analysis, the approach to improve the accuracy of numerical simulation.This study has a strong relevance and usefulness of the results of the spillway design, construction, etc. of great reference value and practical value. The choice of the numerical simulation method can flow field at the same time synchronized data extraction, and explore the mechanism of the hydraulic characteristics of the normal spillway, at the same time can save a lot of manpower and material resources.
